Birthday and Blessing

Sunday was my 28th Birthday and also my cute little nephew, Greyson's Blessing day. We had Lisa's mom and Aunt join us at church and then we all meet up for some seafood gumbo at Lisa's house for lunch. My mom makes the best gumbo and today was no different! It was so yummy! Lisa was sweet enough to make me some yummy cupcakes too. Not that I had anymore room but somehow I managed to eat 2 of them. Maybe that's one of the perks for getting older, you can always make room for sweets to help your bum grow! After a nice visit and some motorbike riding we took a late afternoon/evening nap and then went to my parent's for some homemade ice cream. Joe was a little upset I chose cherry ice cream instead of vanilla but he got over it...I mean it is MY birthday! Since it was Sunday Joe and I went out Monday night for my birthday celebration. My sweet friend Holly watched Kaiden and my dear SIL, Lisa, watched Kalli. The kids had a great time and Joe and I really enjoyed our night out. Is it me or do you seem to talk more with your spouse when your out together than you do sitting at home together? It's always like that with us. If were at home we talk but it seem when were out we really talk. Maybe it's the lack of interruptions! We went to the mall to pick out my new watch (which I love) and then headed over to PF Changs were we ate way too much! But boy was it delicious! Thanks again girls for taking care of my kids for my night out! Aaron took pictures at my parents house so I'll post those as soon as he emails them to me. It was a great birthday and thanks to all for your sweet emails, texts, and phone calls!

Lisa's mom, Joanne, Aaron, Lisa, Greyson and Aunt Jeanie(Don't worry Joe's already gotten a haircut since then!)The Cute CousinsGreyson was getting a little cranky and hungry!

My brother is so sweet to download fun games for Kaiden on his IPhone. Kaiden was staying entertained until the next round of pictures.

The Deschamps and Saxon ClanKalli refused last week to ride on Uncle Aaron's bike. She was way too scared. But the second Kaiden hopped on to ride she was whining b/c she wanted to ride too. That girl would jump off a bridge if Kaiden did it first! But she enjoyed herself and hopefully she won't be scared to do it on her own next time.

Halloween

After a day at the Zoo we all took a much needed rest. Then it was all the excitement that Halloween brings as we rushed to get ready and head over to my mom and dad's house for a quick hello and 'Trick-or-Treat'. We couldn't stop by their house without letting Kaiden's buddy, Mr Nick, see them all dressed up. Mr Nick and his sweet wife, Janice, live across the pond from my parents and they both adore Kalli and Kadien. He's always bringing out bread for them to help him feed the fish and ducks and then he treats them to a small bag of M&Ms or something else yummy. They were really glad we stopped by and the kids were excited to get some little pumpkin goodies bags from Mrs Janice. Then it was on to Aaron and Lisa's house. Robert and Shonna were nice enough to pick up pizza so we had a quick dinner and once Holly and Joel got there we took a few pictures changed a few dirty diapers and then it was off to get some candy! The kids had a blast going from door to door. Me and Kal were falling a little behind so I got to see her go to a few door by herself and she was sooo cute! I know I'm bias but when she said 'Tick Teet' to those at the door everyone else agreed with me! And not to mention her little booty shake run as she would try and catch up to Kaiden and Kailey. I'm so glad we were able to meet up with the Bonnettes b/c Kaiden really enjoyed having KK there. Kaiden was so into Trick-or-Treating that he'd get all thrown off and upset if we let him go to a door and no one ever answered to bring him candy. The real annoying part is that these people would have their lights on...Hello isn't that the #1 rule if your not home or not giving out candy turn OFF your lights! Well the kids walked up to this one house that had skulls all light up in the front yard and Halloween lights all around the door way and they were pretty disappointed when we told them to turn around since no one was answering the door. As we were cutting through the yard a dad with his little (I'm guessing) 1year old daughter in a wagon was passing us. The kids all stopped and smiled and said she was so cute and then Kaiden said Trick-or-Treat. I just laughed and so did the guy but then Kaiden said it several more times. And each time he was getting more and more annoyed that this little girl was not giving him some trick-or-treats! At one point he even told her 'give me your candy' or something along those lines. I was so embarrassed! I was finally able to make him understand that she was trick-or-treating too. I thought it was pretty funny. In all we had a great night and have more candy than I know what to do with and way more than I should be eating!

A Trip to the Zoo..but No Boo

Lisa and I planned a trip to the BR Zoo for Boo at the Zoo. Unfortunately they had it the last 2 weekends but not on Halloween day. It was a beautiful day so we decided to venture out anyway. It actually worked out nicely b/c it wasn't crowded and I didn't have to worry about the kids messing up their Halloween costumes. Greyson did really well and slept most of the time and Kid and Kal had a great time. The morning started off so cool and crisp that a lot of the animals were really active and walking around. Even the Rhinos were roaming. One almost went in the cement ditch separator thingy but decided against but I got a really good closeup shot before he walked off. The kids ran around all over the place like crazy little monkeys and not to mention the actual monkeys were so loud that you could hear them throughout the whole zoo! The sad part is when we were finally getting close to the monkey area Kaiden had to potty 'realllly bad!' so we had to run past and find the closest bathroom. It was close to lunch time and the weather was warming up so we didn't bother going back. Luckily we didn't b/c then we might not of made it to the giraffe's in perfect timing for one of them to be extra friendly that he was even eating out of our hands! It started off with a few other people just petting him and ended up with him eating leaves and apples out of our hands. Another (very annoying) lady tried giving him potato chips and luckily he didn't like it b/c I don't' think that would have been good for him to eat. We tried grapes but he wasn't interested in that either. He was just fine with leaves off the ground but really liked our sliced apples. It was funny that the kids and Lisa wanted to take a bite out of their apple before sharing with the giraffe! It was the neatest zoo experience I've had in a really long time if not ever! Kaiden and Kalli thought it was so fun feeding the giraffe but they would sometimes totally freak out. I got a few cute videos-they still make me laugh watching them! I know there are a lot of pictures but make sure you at least scroll down to the bottom and at least watch the videos!

Even though there was no candy they still enjoyed all of the Halloween decorations
I think Kalli was waving at the Bears
This Elk was really mean and bullying another Elk and chased her clear to the other side of the fence.

This was the creepy path to the otters. I think Kalli had just seen a ghost hanging in the tree. Unfortunately the otters were sunbathing and didn't bother to swim while we were there.

Kaiden was brave and touching the snakes through the glass. After I hissssed at her, Kalli didn't want to get near the snakes and kept saying, "No dey bite me!" She just cracks me up!

Snacking on some grapes and chilin' with the flamingos

Hoping Mr Giraffe will come close to us...

Kaiden is offering him one of his grapes He didn't like it, notice how his nose is turned up at us!He's enjoying the leaves

Check out that tongue! The long black tongue kinda freaked the kids out a bit

We couldn't leave Greyson out of all the Giraffe fun!

He really likes those apples! Me and Lisa were able to have our turns too!

Kalli brave enough to do it all by herself! (It doesn't count that she ran away right after that!)

Pumpkin Patch- Round 2

Tonight we made an attempt to go to a different Pumpkin Patch about 1/2 an hour away. A few of our friends had gone and said there was a lot more things for the kids to do. Well me and the kids were a little late leaving and then we got stuck in traffic on the way there. Some wreck on the interstate caused a lane on both sides to be closed down. With all that said we got there and they were pretty much shutting down for the night. The people were very nice and still let us walk around and the pet the animals. The kids didn't' seem to care at all and loved running up and down all the hills and playing in the pumpkin field. It started getting dark pretty quick so the pictures didn't come out as great as I was hoping for. But the kids really like seeing the animals and Kalli enjoyed petting them more than Kaiden. There was a turkey there that gobbled so loud and Kaiden kept saying it was barking. Speaking of turkey I can't wait for Thanksgiving! :)

These little bunnies were so soft and cute

Right as Kalli was leaning down to pet the chicks the turkey gobbled and it scared her so bad she didn't' want to pet them anymore.

We were able to catch up with the goat and pet him while he snacked on some pumpkins before dinner timeThe kids tried to pet the sheep but they were a little more shy
I told you Kalli had fun at the petting zoo!
