Now that Joe goes to LSU we had to make him an official student and go tailgating! We packed up the kids and enjoyed walking around and visiting a few of Joe's classmates. Unfortunately Mike the Tiger was not in his cage (he was being prepped for his appearance at the game) but the kids enjoyed seeing his statue instead. It was a fun day and it still amazes me how many people show up for tailgating and are there ALL day!
Kaiden's pre-k class had their first field trip and it was an all day event. The kids rode the bus, which Kaiden was super excited about, while most parents followed behind. We first went to the fire department, then the pumpkin patch, the library and finally the park. It was a great afternoon and I loved watching Kaiden with all of his school buddies.
When I got out my Halloween box there were a few old costumes that the kids had fun dressing up in. I had a zoo in the house complete with an elephant, a monkey and a tiger- oh my!
Kaiden started a fall session of soccer and he amazed us at how much better he was! He was on the purple team again this time #9. Sadly our team didn't even have practices but he still managed to score 6 goals during his first game! Each game he played he would tally up his total goals for the season. It was so funny during each water break he'd run over and say "Now I have x number of goals!" His total was 31 for the season...not bad! Hopefully our soccer star will make us millions one day!
We made a trip out to a local pumpkin patch and let the kids each pick out their pumpkin (with a little guidance of course. This is by far one of my favorite family pictures too!
Surprisingly this was our first time as a family to carve a pumpkin! Each year I planned to but then somehow we always got too busy. Kaiden didn't mind cleaning out the pumpkin but Kalli hated it! Joe did an excellent job carving them and the kids were able to tell him what kind of face they wanted. Kalli had the silly pumpkin and Kaiden's was the scary one.
Kalli and I were excited to be invited to Kaiden's Fall Party at school. We had a good time and Kaiden was happy to have his little sister at school with him. He even shared all of his goodies with her.
I had a scary Frankenstein and a beautiful little Tinker Bell this year for Halloween. We enjoyed our ward Trunk-or-Treat at the church and then hit up Aaron and Lisa's neighborhood a few nights later for the real deal. The kids had a lot of fun and we had waaaaaay too much candy to bring home!
