I just wanted to wish you all a Happy 4th of July! I'm so thankful for all the freedoms that we enjoy in this wonderful country. I am especially grateful for those who have fought, still fight and will continue to fight to defend that freedom. Regardless of your opinion on the war we need to support our troops! God Bless the USA!
Now here are a few pictures from our day. We BBQ ed at my parents then enjoyed some watermelon and homemade ice cream. After we were completely stuffed we watched a few fireworks and then got the kids in bed just before 10.
(If you're wondering why Kaiden's arm is in a bag its b/c he was playing by the pool when the baby ducks were swimming and I didn't want him to stick his cast in the water.)
This is Martine (sounds like Martina) Shannon's friend from Norway. She was a foreign exchange student last year and is back visiting for a few weeks. Kaiden just loves her and just stares at her when she's around. He's also constantly saying, "Hey Martine" over and over just to get her attention. I think its his first crush. Boy does he like older women or what?!

Glad to hear you had a good 4th, but I think you win the Good Parents award, Hayden wasn't in bed til after 11pm AND he burned his hands on a sparkler. I would have traded our KFC for your homemade ice cream anyday, too.
way to be in the spirit of the 4th! i totally got choked up when we were at the parade and the older vets would walk by in their getup. there was this cute old guy (87 to be exact) and he was riding in the back of a hummer and he was playing the trumpet and he was so proud, again, i totally cried! i couldn't help but think of C.A. she is a strong women!
